Stripes & Polka Dots

Today's work look takes a nautical inspiration.  I love playing with prints, and mixing stripes and polka dots is a fun and simple way to do it.

Skirt:  The Limited
Tank:  Forever 21+ (Available here)
The striped A-line skirt (it has pockets!) complements the coral dotted tank.  The navy blazer and pumps pull the look together and make it perfect for work.
Blazer:  The Limited (Available here)
Shoes:  Target (Available in other colors here)
Necklace:  The Limited (Available here)
I love that the color blocking on this necklace also creates a striped effect, adding to the pattern mixing of this look.

Pattern Play

Today's look is inspired by spring.  The nautical stripes on the top, floral scarf, and fresh navy, white and green color palette all make me think of spring.
Top:  The Limited (Available here)
Pants:  The Limited (Available here)
Mixing patterns has been a trend the last season or so and will be continuing into this spring.
Purse:  The Limited
The top and scarf have a somewhat casual feel, but the navy trousers help dress the look up enough for work.  I added a matching navy blazer for work since it was rather chilly.

I love the tassels on the scarf!!!
Scarf:  The Limited (Available here)
Bracelet:  Target (old)
Ring:  Gift-vintage (Similar here)
Shoes:  Target (Sold out in navy; find other colors here)

Preppy Color

Hi everyone!

Hard to believe it's been a week since I posted.  Between the kids and me, this has been one sickly household the last few weeks!!! I hope you all are staying healthy!

I have decided to postpone the rest of my Spring fashion forecast for now.  I will have more spring preview some time in February.  It is bitter cold in my neck of the woods, so even though my mind is on spring colors and styles, the temperatures are forcing me back to the reality that we still have a lot of winter left!!!
Tee:  The Limited (Available here)
Blazer:  The Limited (Similar here)
Corduroy pants:  Forenza by The Limited (Similar here)
Shoes:  Target
I actually wore today's look last casual Friday.  I wore the green flats to work for comfort, but I've also shown the look with navy heels.  The green flats add a fun pop of color that add to the look's classic preppy vibe.

Heels:  Target (Available here)
Bracelets:  Express, Zoppini
I personally prefer neutral pants to color, but it's definitely fun to experiment.  While this look is winter appropriate, it does play on two big trends for spring - stripes (which I've already discussed here and here) and COLOR (more on this trend later)!

Do you like wearing color to beat the winter blahs?

Anchors Away

Hope you all had a great day!  Unfortunately, I'm feeling under the weather today, so my pics are a bit limited.
I paired my burgundy velvet pants with a striped tank and anchor cardigan for a fun nautical theme look.

I usually reserve nautical prints and themes for spring and summer, but I loved the mix of colors of this outfit.  The layers and fabrics were enough to keep me warm this chilly day.

Cardigan:  Torrid (Similar here)
Tank:  Old Navy Petites
Pants:  The Limited (Available here)
Purse:  The Limited (Available here)
Boots:  Payless (old)
Anchor earrings:  Gift (Similar here)
Would you wear an anchor print?  How would you style this cardigan?
